| 内容記述 | 土屋工は 1950 年の別府女子大学の設立時に生物学担当として採用され、教鞭をとる一方で生涯の研究テーマとなる大麦ゲノム研究の基礎を別府での 7 年間で築いた。恩師の木原均博士が所長を務める横浜の財団法人木原生物学研究所を経てからは、大麦ゲノム等の研究と後進の育成を海外で生涯に渡って続けた。本稿では別府大学学長佐藤義詮先生古稀記念論集に残されている土屋の著作を中心に土屋の足どりを調査した。 In 1950, Takumi Tsuchiya was employed as a lecturer at the Beppu Women’s University in Oita Prefecture. He conducted research on barley genetics while teaching biology. After seven years in Oita, he completed his Doctor of Agriculture degree while working with Professor Hitoshi Kihara at the Kihara Institute of Biological Research near Yokohama. He joined the faculty of the Department of Agronomy at Colorado State University, continued his research on barley and other plants, and developed a vigorous research program which attracted numerous graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. | |||||||
